Time quoins in ancestral lands

I've noticed that when I'm in the ancestral lands, there are occasionally quoins that look like little clocks, and when I grab them, they say things like +101 seconds. Sadly, this doesn't seem to have any effect at all on my countdown bar for how much time remains in the ancestral lands. Am I the only one who's noticed this, or is it a more common problem?

• The time quoins are to speed up your learning of a skill.  I know, I was confused the first few times also, until someone explained it to me.

• I was confused too and expected exactly the same thing Pocket Bard.  If I was not so lazy, I would find the thread from back when I was a young Glitch.

• It is the mitochondria from the traps that extends your time in the Ancestral Lands.  The time quoins are also found in other areas of Ur.
