Avatars are pixelated when expanding newsfeed items

This has been happening pretty consistently for the last few days. Example!

Does the avatar image stay pixelated or is this only for a moment?

This just looks like image interlacing that is caused by a slow connection.

@TomC, it's not just "loading" if that's what you're asking. There seems to be something wrong with the graphic, which looks to me like a blown-up pixelated version rather than a full-sized version rendering properly. Either that or it's freezing on the "loading" part.

@New Boy, it happens only on that screen; the avatars on every other page (including the profile page, where the avatar is actually bigger) look fine. Also my connection is not slow.
