New skills, new furniture upgrades & SDBs
We have some new things for you to play with. This is not the promised 'R2' release, but a few things that come before it.
Firstly, there are 7 new skills available for learning. Indulge in some Fiber Arts, become a pro Fox Brusher, learn to bend wood and metal to your will and eventually create some furniture. The tools and recipes for these skills are not being released today, but you can get a headstart on learning them.
If you visit your new house, you'll see you have more furniture upgrade choices, along with more wallpapers. Go nuts.
Lastly, we've added a new kind of furniture we call Storage Display Boxes. They show up under 'cabinets' in your furniture bag. If you're already in your home, go back into the world and re-enter to get given some. SDBs allow you to show off the items you have, storing as many of that item as you like, without visitors being able to pinch them. They come in a bunch of fancy styles, so you can show off all your hard-won spoils.
Oh, and one more bonus feature. You can now 'downgrade' furniture to the original base item.

Y'all have made me and my rock very happy!! - OMG! The display boxes are effectively ?infinite? (I've not found a limit yet) size bags. So much easier to organize and hold things! I now have a box with over 26,000 planks in it...
- Last night I had a dream that Glitch updated. Then I had a dream that I woke up and checked Glitch and it was updated. Now I'm terribly afraid that I am still asleep!

Dearest bees! ...the furniture-making skill description mentions Snails. Are these actual snails, or s'nails (as it were)...or is it a grand secret that will be revealed and I must be patient?

Love the concept, but i'm having a few issues with the storage boxes. Some times I get a message saying "Could not add all [x amount]" even though I have enough in my inventory, and then all the leftover from my inventory disappears! :( Filed a bug report.
Also, once I add some stuff to the boxes, then only option I get when I click on it is "Remove x amount," meaning I have to empty the box before I can add more. Is this intentional, or a bug? - TBH, I didn't read the whole post before getting the magic rock back to work. Woo!

Aurora: I'm looking into the first part of your report, where you're getting the "Could not add all [x amount]" message.
The primary method of depositing into a Storage Display Box is to drag and drop the items into it. For convenience, when it's empty, we give you a picker, but once it contains items, you can add more by just dragging the thing into the Box. This works whether the thing is in your inventory or in the location. - Awesome!

cool, one day left on metalworking...
but no onion rings? what is wrong with you ppl... - Myles! I was able to add more things to the box by going into decorating mode, and then clicking on it. The menu in decorating mode is different from game mode.

why ask for complex stuff when the simple things in life are whats best? - Caution when choosing "All" to add to storage boxes. It rounds up everything you have in inventory AND on the ground. If you have cubis neatly arranged in your house/attic, as i did, they get whisked off into the storage box as well.

- Suggestion -- Allow the SDBs to tell the difference between a full 7/7 firefly jar and an empty one. I'd like to store them separately, please. Other than that, they are seriously full of win.
