New Quest: Radiant Glare

Make sure you can still collect more quoins before you start this. Or drink your Avarice juice.

  • you know, i thought of the colorblind thing, btu then decided that if you see the world in greyscale , you can still do the quest.

    also like more puzzlier things.

  • How do you start this quest? :O

  • @Reezy, I got the quest when i logged in and stepped outside my house, so maybe if you change streets you'll see it.  Plus there was a cool noise to let me know i had a quest.

  • I have been sort of meh on many of these quests, but I really liked this.  It wasn't impossible, but it wasn't dead easy either.  I had to stop a few times and think just a tad about what to do, and my thinking worked.  Thank you.

  • If you must do these sucky jumping puzzles, please let the platforms stay once we light them! I do suck at jumping and used to levitate, but oh no, you took that away too!

ETA: made it through anyway :)

  • Found this much easier than the first one- less twitchy platforms. These stayed a lot longer.

  • I'm confused, I did this quest already about a week ago! Was it an accidental release then? '~'

  • There was another similar one last week (as mentioned in the text for this one). But this one had more jumps, was more straight up and down, and less quoins.

Or perhaps you benefitted from a bug.

  • I am really liking the trend towards more of a puzzle approach to quests. Les Miserables and these two light quests have been fantastic fun. Thanks TS!

  • I am totally stuck on this one...I can't get past the first yellow light! If there's anything I should be doing other than not sucking at jumping, would really appreciate some help here.

  • Just to jump in here - in general, colorblind people do not see the world in greyscale, they have a hard time differentiating between different colors, depending on the nature of their colorblindness.

  • A friend of mine who was colorblind (RG) said "I see a lot more brown than you do".

  • There are different kinds of color deficiency but if game designers want to keep roughly 10% of the male population happy, they need to avoid dependencies on distinguishing red and green. And don't playtest with just one colorblind person, do several so you get a range; it's easy to find red/green color deficient males.

  • I'm not colorblind and even I prefer some use of shapes/patterns in puzzly things. Though, I understand the delicate balance between additionally helpful visual cues and additional clutter.

  • I'm in same situation as Sellybeth - can't get on first yellow platform, no matter how I jump.

    p.s. I haven't eaten any cake!

  • Scottlet, though it's likely too late for you specifically, but may help others - make sure you refresh if this happens!  We tried to help someone in global for a while, asking all sorts of questions, but in the end, it was a refresh that allowed them to jump.

  • Platforms lasted long enough for me to think about my jumps, which was a great improvement!

Perhaps TS would find this palette I use when doing graphics useful.

  • Well, the platforms are visible whether or not you can see the colors. Even if you do have trouble differentiating colors, you should be able to figure out which lights create the platforms you need.
