Necklaces! And question for staff

If you missed this idea thread, it seems TS did not: www.glitch.com/forum/ideas/...

And they are now in the encyclopedia, including one named for the player that proposed it: www.glitch.com/items/collec...; They are assembled from beads rather than pieces.

My question for TS: do these replace the currant rewards as the original idea suggested?

    Fixed.

  • Yes! Thank you, TS!

EDIT: It shouldn't replace the current rewards, 'cause those are cool too. But these are slightly-less hard to get rewards for everyone. <3 TS!

  • Ta da!

(And, thanks go to Kukubee & Mart — they pushed for it the most and managed to get it done in time.)

  • All the thanks that would come my way, send it to Caiyot. One of the best ideas yet.

  • Cool-I already got me some necklace pieces! Great idea! *I may now be able to forget the whole invitation feat* :P

  • If Kukubee deserved all the credit, there would be a dong necklace, obviously.

But thanks Kukes and Mart for your time and effort.  Rock on.

  • Dear god, now I want a Kukubee Dong Necklace. I really really do.

  • Fantastic, TS!  Thanks so much for listening to this idea and implementing it - and thanks to Caiyot for coming up with it in the first place!

  • Alyx Sands: Fact: it takes up to 10,000 kukubee dongs to make a necklace! That's why he's so obsessed with 'em!

  • Such a cool idea, and such a great implementation!  Awesomeness all the way around!! :D

  • Alyx: I was gonna say "Where do you think the stones came from???" but I thought it might be too gross. So I didn't say it after all because that's not how I want to behave on the forums.

  • Thanks for this, it's a great idea.  Do you want your 10 currants back?

    :P
Posted 10 years ago by Miss Parsley Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @ Stoot:  10,000 dongs per necklace?  Huge necklace or small...........  er.  Ok.

@kukubee that is gross and I am glad you didn't say it.

  • Miss Parsley, or, the way we more typically say it: "Ten kilodongs".
Posted 10 years ago by stoot barfield Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I'm so glad that TS uses the metric system.  The standard Imperial Schlong is so much harder to calculate with!

  • This is really a great idea!  Thanks TS for listening!

  • @Miss Parsley: Small...er...yep. :3
Posted 10 years ago by Sororia Rose Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Scarlett, not at all, er, harder.  It's just what you are used to dealing with.  I understand metric but have an instinctive grasp of of the Imperial Schlong.

@Sororia, It's not the size that matters.   Allegedly.

  • Perhaps it's a Giant necklace?

--Me, laughing harder @ this thread than I have in weeks.

  • Just don't be surprised if your necklace shrinks in Wintry Place.

  • Bwahahahaha! @ Georgia's comment.  Desperately trying to stop myself asking if there will be pearls.

Shoot!  I went and said it...

  • This thread has offended my delicate sensibilities. My mental images of a giant kukubee dong necklace have scarred me for life...:P
Posted 10 years ago by Chazerei Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Because you need lots of beads to make a single necklace (one of them requires 23), does this mean petrified rocks will drop more often, or will they still only drop with feats? If it is the later, does this mean more feats more often?

  • I am dying at this thread. And Kukubee balls. And dongs. And I LOVE the necklaces.
Posted 10 years ago by Aliera Subscriber! | Permalink
  • We did not answer your original question, Saucelah! Nothing was replaced or removed. The beads ensure that every small rock contains some sort of artifact, either one of the originally released artifact pieces or one of the new beads.

Let's hear it for small rocks! Just because they're small doesn't mean they aren't special.
Posted 10 years ago by Little Poundcake Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Green Meanie: only drop with feats.  Beads will just come more often than artifact pieces.  Feats are supposed to be regular things.

ETA: Ah, so it's possible to get a small amount of currants as a  reward still? (someone I know misread currant reward as current rewards, so clarifying)
Posted 10 years ago by Saucelah Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I will now ponder the relation between kilodong and imperial schlong, thank you. And patiently wait to get more of those..."rocks". Yeah, "rocks". :D

  • Oh my giants! This is amazing.  I know Glitch is unwinnable, but... I think I just won Glitch!

I am mega-chuffed and cannot wait to make my first Caiyotite necklace :D

  • " I understand metric but have an instinctive grasp of of the Imperial Schlong."  This made me snork!

  • This is amazing really, love it! However I have to say I'm really upset for all the small rocks I opened and got 20 currants each. Later I sold the unopened ones because I couldn't take the risk anymore, now I regret that I did. Some of us bought few small rocks (for thousands of currants) and got 10, 20 currants from them, some of us (as discussed before) spent sleepless nights on the feasts- with pleasure- and got currants in change. I wish there was a way to compensate for earlier.
Just sharing how I feel... I could use a few kisses to feel better though...

  • So much love for this thread (and the idea implemented and the way it was implemented). A great read for the short time I'm in the office today and not selling books outside.

  • Yay!  I'm sure glad I waited to smash my rocks.  Otherwise I'd be pretty grouchy.
