Nah, I really like this idea, but my screen freezes a little when I give a hi 5, probably just my computer. I'm so happy devs made this, cuz I'm afraid of emo bears ever since the giant emo bear incident, I will never have to see one again! Except when someone hugs me...*shudder* - awesome!!!

I enjoy it. Especially when the themes change dialy. Why not make it into a feat of some kind? That would be fun!
I'm sure it would bother some players because people say it and might not "mean" the greeting. But I do! So, "Hi!" :) - I love it... and to the haters... I shall follow them and plank them until the end of time.

Love this! Anything to make socializing easier is nice. And I don't think 5 pts is enough of a reward for people to do it for shallow reasons.
And Tibbi? Try Photon. It works reasonably well, especially if you have a separate keyboard. You can't do things that require precision but its great for the gardening/mining/social aspects of the game. No affiliation, yadda yadda.... -
I really like this new way to say Hi! So much easier and faster, and the little animations make me smile every time.
Speaking as someone who can be kind of shy, this is really perfect because I don't have to take my fingers off the keyboard (to right click on someone to emobear at them) or make sure to tab to the right chat box or (best of all) think about what to say... it definitely removes a few of the twinges of social anxiety I get when I try to interact.
Plus I got to teach someone how to do it in-game, and they were thrilled. That was fun. - After playing with this a little, I definitely love it. I've had the exact same problems with RKs and bears, and I always feel bad just running past someone. This is fun, cute, and very "handy." ;-)
- Also +1 to Tibbi's idea. Personally I'd love to opt out of emo bear emotes -- I always appreciate the thought, but the animation is so intrusive. Although I understand that granular controls aren't TPTB's favorites.
- I like the animation where I imagine a colourful block and throw it at people's heads.
- It's a small thing but sweet. My only worry is that it may be a killer in Cebarkul next Zilloween - Lol!

There are merit badges to do with "mega-hi". Is that some super souped-up version of this new feature that I haven't discovered yet?
I only discovered the ability to say "hi" because I typo'd my WASD controls. It took me forever to figure out why I was hearing that the little jingle, and how other people were throwing cubes and bats at me. So I'm not very quick on the uptake here to begin with! - If two people "hi" each other with the same symbol, that's a "mega-hi" and gives bonus mood to both.
