Achievement possible or not?

Is the Moneybags Magoo achievement possible?
http://beta.glitch.com/achievements/315/
Or does it mean 'Made a purchase worth more than 5000 currants.'?

  • I thought it might be from auctions or trades, but since nobody atop the leaderboard has it, I'm thinking no.

  • What would the leaderboards have to do with it?

  • I'm guessing Tingly means the leaderboard indicating who has completed the most achievements.
    Thanks for the answers :)

  • I was thinking that purchase of a larger home would result in achieving this one.  When I originally bought my home, I only got the lower achievement, so I thought maybe not having achieved the lower achievement might've messed things up for me.  Unfortunately, I'm not interested in the other homes enough to want to move yet, so I haven't gotten around to testing that thought.  I do know that buying 3 (or more) crystalizers won't do it though.  Perhaps because they're 3 (+) separate items.  Or maybe it's a bug, or because there's no single item that expensive, or...?

  • I've assumed it's like Globetrotter Extraordinaire which entails visiting 757 new areas. There aren't 757 areas *yet*.

  • I've made a purchase in auction of more than 5000 currants, and don't have the achievement, and by "item" I know they don't mean house, because that's the Homesteader award, so I'm guessing that it's a future achievement for when there will be an item to purchase that costs more than 5000 currants. Like, say, home decor...

  • I have a 10,000 currant house, and I don't have the award.

  • Same as cupcake. I just assumed this is a future reward, where I should purchase one single item from a vendor.

  • I tried it with a friend, we bought 3 gnomes at once, he auctioned a 5000c bean, which I bought and we both own houses.

We do not have the badge.

  • this makes sense to me as some of the other spending achievements were not available until new items were added in game (toolboxes and El Big Spenderino)

  • Ah, okay. I didn't even think about buying a house as possibly fulfilling the requirement...
    Thanks, guys :)
