Museum Style Pedestals with Readable Plaques!

The awesome newish pedestals here and here are already pretty awesome, and totally support the very excellent idea popularized by Haze here. However, in the construction of my very own museum, The Spice Museum, I'm finding that it would be absolutely excellent if TS could support this player driven content by making it so that the pedestals can be interacted with like any other object in the world.

The desirable verb would likely just be 'Read' allowing the verbing player to view a customized bit of text inlaid by the creator of the space. This would allow a museum curator to put in interesting exhibit cards for anything they'd like to say, instead of laying down notes that don't look nearly as snazzy :) Note Poles are preferable, but the notes still appear very unprofessional on the poles, which is charming on a home street or in your own home as a reminder, but not very cool for a museum ;)

  • Or how about a pole-less note pole, better known as a Label.

  • +1 to readable plaques, labels, post-its...anything to help organize a museum in an orderly and pretty way!

  • This would be fantastic...as another Museum cURator...I would love to have labels on the pedestals.

  • Agreed... And glass enclosed pedestals would rock too... Like sdb's on display, just not on a wall.

  • Ennuienta, I put the lighted glass SDB on a pedestal and got that effect. (Glass Topped Display) www.glitch.com/snaps/PUV3OP...
