Hide Group Channels
There should be a way to hide a group's chat channel short of quitting the group. (My sidebar is getting cluttered.)
I propose adding a menu item "Hide" to the little drop-down arrow that currently has "copy to clipboard." To reinstate the visibility, there's be a button on the group page: "Show chat channel." Or, maybe a checkbox, so you could uncheck it there too, when you join, if you want.

yes, please. Most groups I'm in are not organized around in-game, real-time chatting.
in fact, it's the asynchronous forum thread aspect that makes them workable. At a minimum, I'd like the group list to fall below the player list. -
I would like to add a vote for this.
Also, it might be helpful to make the chat channel for a group optional. Most of the groups I'm part of do not use their chat channel. However, because the channel is there, new players may expect it to be used and hang out there, wondering why nothing is happening. If groups that don't use chat have no channel, then it will be easier to identify chat channels where there may actually be chat. - How about a side tab for Groups and Players?

Hear hear! Same here , all but a couple of my groups rarely talk. So tellers, all for this!! - +1 and also +1 to the idea to make access to chat channel something you can make a permission so you can turn it on/off.
