Fix the new fonts/strip the new fonts

Hello!

The new default fonts on the menus, big headers, etc are very hard to read -- they actually render downright fuzzy, especially on the main menu.

I'm all for a fun font/ new font, but this one just doesn't reduce in size well at all, and whatever is being used to render it (sifr?) is getting a bit cranky on me.

I have a few sight-related issues, and I've always really appreciated both the ease with which I can use my keyboard for almost EVERYTHING and the ease with which I can set my own fonts and adjust things so I can read them.  But for the life of me, I can't get rid of this new font and it's doing a real number on my eyes.  I can provide some screenshots, just in case it's rendering different for most folks.

Thanks!

  • It's really fuzzy and small for me as well. I have to squint to read Mood, Energy, etc at the top of my screen. Also my energy is currently in the sort of yellow/mustard zone and the greyish number in the small font over that color makes it nearly impossible to read with my craptastic eyes.

  • + 1 Yes---old font was much more sharp and clear.

  • Interestingly, I am having no issues with it at all. I checked in Safari, Firefox and Chrome. No idea what that might mean.

  • I have a little bit of trouble reading the white energy levels against the green background.... and there's nothing wrong with my eyes, as long as I'm wearing my glasses :).

  • I have no problems with the new fonts and I like them.

  • I too find the grayed-out Total Energy number to be almost indistinguishable against the mustard yellow background.  Fortunately, I'm almost always interested in the remaining points, and not the total points.

  • Yeah, it does look kinda weird, almost like it is moving.

  • We'll check into this!

Can someone who is having problems take a screenshot and upload it somewhere so we can better investigate?

  • Here's the part that's giving me trouble: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2640/5735582687_c9f126890f_o.png

It's not so bad when the background switches from night to day.

  • This is what is bugging me: tinypic.com/r/es53eq/7

The letters kind of run together and make my eyes go a bit off.

  • Is it the shading effect on the lower number?

  • I don't get the problem-maybe it's just me but I don't see any font change. Even in those pictures! Weird.

  • I played with the home page a bit and found that at certain sizes, that font's edges become jagged.  The text of "Home Profiles Skills" etc. looks messy when the font is smaller.  The letters u and n have odd bits sticking out.  When it's larger, it looks fine.  Personally, I preferred the old font.

  • For those of you on Windows, you should now notice fewer jagged edges around text which uses our custom typeface. Also, when your energy meter enters that middle-mustard-y color range, it should now be much easier to read the numbers within it.
