I remember the strange handle in the shrine. "ah ha it would make an ideal tool" I could just borrow it maybe . . . Returning to the shrine I peer cautiously in . . . in the dark its hard to see the objects, but as I recall it was near the top so I start to probe the shrines contents hoping to locate the handle tool . . . Ewww eww eww I hadn't noticed how bad this shrine smelt before, its terrible like old jellisacs and batterfly poop and whats more worrying is that what I am feeling could almost be . . . I try not to think. I find paper and then a bottle, something squishy and then finally I find it the handle, I pull it, at first it wont budge, I wonder if the Giant is holding onto the other end, but having decided I need it I try again, this time the handle loosens . . . another tug and it is wrenched free with a loud gloop . . . I am sent sprawling onto my back followed by a shower of various objects that either splat or clatter and then silence . . .

I lay there for a few moments winded, slowly getting up rubbing my bruises. I bet the Giant is laughing, but I have the handle tool. Triumphantly I head back to the firefly jar and am about to deal it a heafty whack when a voice stops me in my tracks. I turn to face a man. He's a big guy, much taller than me and a fair bit wider too, His clothes are dark but upon his chest are the words Park Warden. He's yelling at me, it seems a strange languare with a lot of uck words and some offs. I do not understand . . . He waves his arms and gestures wildly and I get the idea he's not very happy so I do the only thing I can think of, I hug him . . .

He struggles at first but then he stops and stands there staring at me. I try to apologise, "I'm sorry I didn't know this was yours" I hold up the handle tool, the black fabric flapping down. "I will put it back" He stands watching me, Its takes me a few attempts before the handle tool is deposited back in the shrine. I turn to the man, "I really am sorry" I'm about to hug him again but he steps back avoiding contact. Now look Miss, you can't go about damaging park property, and you can't stay here, the park gets locked at night. Now I suggest you go home . . . I smile, "Yes home . . . oh but . . . but I don't . . . how do I tell him I haven't been able to go back for a while now ever since that fateful day. "Homeless then?" He stands a little way off juggling the large key in his hand, "Look Miss if you really have nowhere to go you should go to the refuge, Its down main street . . " He waves vaguely to the right, "Now be off with you before you lose me my job" I start off towards the gate I turn back he looks away, "Go to the refuge . . ."

As I pass through the gate I take one more quick look at the Park Warden, I feel guilty when I see he is cleaning the rubbish that spilled out when I had tugged the handle tool free. Its hard to see his face in the dim light but sharp ears pick up more 'uck' words, I dismiss the urge to go back and ask what a main street is, instead turning to pass through the gate and out along a short tree lined alley to where light seems to be winning the war against the dark . . . I stand stunned what an amazing sight this main street is for it is full of buildings and as I look there is so much to see I barely know where to start
