Hey, when you’re depressed, take up an activity where you can run, scream and hit things; and also have sessions of concentration and safe control. I’m an active kendo fighter, it helps a lot with depression and mood swings. Oh, except when I break a finger while playing basketball at warm up so now I won’t be able to hold a sword for a month or so. Sucks to be me…

hmmm, what about tai chi sword form while your healing? complete opposite of kendo but, still a sword! also, chocolate, works for sads and for the dementors.

I intend to practice one handed techniques. I’ve damaged my right hand, but my left one (i.e. the most important one) is fine. Though it still will be a nightmare. Something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=80Y...

OMG. Really? After the crazy tough day you told me about, your finger broke while warming up for the big weekend kendo camp? You have earned the right to say "FML." www.fmylife.com/

Well, I did train normally on Saturday and broke the finger (or, to be precise, severely damage my fingernail in a quite bizarre way that I didn’t care to try to explain in detail; but as trivial as it sounds the pain and practical effect is exactly the same for the moment) only on Sunday in the morning. I did a session of iaido (www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjU...; which I won’t be able to do now definitely, as there is no work around for using the right hand), then got forced to participate in the warm-up and then the weekend ended for me in a fashion appropriate to the way it started on Friday. -.-
