Piggies with pork-related names

I know people can change their names, but I was really tickled by a piggie named Prosciutto down in Ix, and another one named Tocino in Firozi. :D See any more of these porky piggies?

  • I occasionally name piggies "Slaninka" or "Svinka Slaninka".

    Slanina = bacon
    Slaninka = little bacon / cute little bacon
    Svinka = piggie

  • I've had my dear sweet Lechon since the old days on Maybe Marsh. He's not so tender anymore, I don't think he'd make a good roast.

  • I suspect this is the single most common pig-name genre, but I think I love "Prosciutto" anyway.  ^_^

  • Schnitzel von Crumb has a very low tum. He was originally a dachshund.

    He's a character from a set of children's books called Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy by Linley Dodd. Theyb are best known in New Zealand, where they were written.

  • OMG, "Pjork" is brilliant.

    I tend to go for famous-people puns, like "Alexander Hamilton" or "Charlie Porker"  - and I get a bit giddy when I think up one I haven't used yet.

  • My all-time favorite is Michael J Pig. Can't take credit for it, but admit to re-using it.

    Mine are things like Hamlet, Bacon, Pork Chop, Sausage, etc.

    Chickens are things like: Fried, Baked, Legs, Thighs, and (my personal favorite) Parmesan.

    I couldn't keep track of all the butterflies, so I just started naming them "Specimen [Random Number]"

  • Back when I named my piggies, I always gave them pork related names. Sometimes by cut (Chops, Butt, Loin, Belly, etc), sometimes by dish (Carnitas, BBQ, Bacon, Ham, etc). It's sort of an homage to an old friend of mine.She has a small farm and raises a few cows which she always names after cuts of meat (T-Bone, Sirloin, etc) to stop her from getting too emotionally attached. She knows that, one day, they'll all be taking a trip to the butcher but only she will be returning in one piece.

  • aww, kalsangikid, it's not so sad! The little mooers did what they came to do. If it wasn't for meat, they'd never have been brought into the world. And they were! That is awesome. And then they get to have a great life. Once it's time, they get to give everyone some yummy treats! Circle of life and all that :)

  • I name my front yard piggies after my friends, after first "porkifying" their names.  Always with their approval, of course!  (Open the drop down menu for inhabitants to see their names.)

  • The piggies on my street were once all named after the cast of Pigs in Space, but people brought new pigs, and renamed a couple of them, and now I don't think any of the originals names are there any more.
