"Room-mates"
I do (kinda) like the idea that now people have to knock each time to be let into your home, but it kinda "nixes" the idea of having a roomate. If 2 players could live in a home, and share the storage space and the items purchased and needed for quests and mere survival, maybe an "extra key" could be accessible to each home owner. They could then choose a "room-mate."
