I think that toolboxes should slightly reduce the loss of durability when using tools. This makes sense because it's like keeping your tools in a toolbox in real life. They last longer when you take care of them.
well, reducing the loss of durability wouldn't make a lot of sense since the tools are used outside the toolbox
there could be instead a bonus for repairing them when they're into a toolbox
something like a shake of the elemental pouch, but instead it make a repair on all the items into the toolbox
I find specialised containers too limiting. I only use elemental pouches, and only because I have to. I avoid grinding rocks, and end up doing it in bulk and making powders in bulk so I don't have to do it too often, all because of the elemental pouches So I wouldn't like a game mechanic that made me use specialist bags - I would spend too much game time swopping bags in and out, would get fed up and play less.
If toolboxes were cheaper than 16-slot bags it might not be so bad, but as it is, all it provides is the bag specialization. Which there's no other way to get, for Tools, but I don't think that's the right way to do it.
Let there be further benefit to toolboxes. A "Shake"-ish command once a day would help ("Maintain"?), but making them cheaper or on par with other bags would be nice, too, perhaps even along with that. We already pay for them being specialized bags.
(Granted, with a Random Kindness or three, my "traveling tools" box is already nigh full, so it's not like I'm losing much space... but still.)
they already are the default for tools to go into shhexy
Not in my experience. If I have a bag without specialization to the left of my toolbox, it will go into the bag. The magic sort option does work though
