How about: Splanksgiving

It could be a holiday AND a feat all at once!

Involving chickens and splanks!

  • To give a nod to the holiday it's named after. I'm thinking there should be four related feats mainly because there are four things we do every Turkey Day. Cook, gorge, fight and watch sports.

Massive amounts of cooking for the feat.
Reaching the food eating limit every game day related to Splanksgiving
Splanking Glitchen left and right in honor of our traditional holiday rows.
Some sort of game playing related feat in honor of everyone watching men in tight pants hug each other a lot and and really expensive TV commercials.

There's also sleep of course. Lot's of poultry-related sleep but how to simulate that without boring the pants off of all Glitchen?

  • I like the idea of a new holiday, but could we have one that's related to a more international real world holiday? As someone who is not American, its tiring enough seeing so much about Thanksgiving online as it is without Glitch joining in too!

  • I find the idea very US centric too

Halloween is not international either but at least it's more than just an American holiday.

I am all for having holidays in Glitch. There are already several on the calendar but they don't have any activity associated with them. Couldn't we just work out activities around those dates?

  • Thanksgiving is celebrated in places outside of the US, IrenicRhonda.
    Canada, Japan, Germany...

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank...

Even if the meaning is different, the observation is often similar, and the time of year makes for harvest festivals that have different names.

  • Ooh, I want a feat for Splanking. (Yes, I know, splanking screws up some people's computer and this would never happen, but darn it, I like splanking. Stoot was the first Glitch i ever splanked!)

  • Yeah I like the idea and i love more holidays just like possibly not just holidays named after US ones, or just generally international holidays.  Like other names could be St. Splankings Day etc you get the picture :P

  • Well, when I originally proposed it in Global. I added the proviso that it was very US-centric but the name fits so well...

  • As Mewse pointed out, Thanksgiving is not a Holiday in just the US.

There's no reason that it has to relate to the day it's celebrated in the US [or in The Magical Land of Canadia].

Perhaps it should be related to the day that TS was incorporated.
