  • A penny (or any copper-plated coin).

I know a word of letters three. Add two, and fewer there will be.

  • The word of letters three is six, and once you add two it's three...? Just popped into my head. Correct?

ETA: Oh, duh. I'm stupid. The word of letters three is few, and once you add two it's fewer. :P

(This one is rather long.) You're walking along a path and you come to a fork. One road leads to eternal hell, and the other is glory and happiness. There's a twin by each road. One always tells the truth, and one always lies, but you don't know which is which. You have one question, total, to ask either one of the brothers, to figure out which path to take. What question do you ask?

  • what would the other one say? then go the opposite way.

A detective walked into a circular house. one of the five residents had murdered a man. When asked what they were doing they answered:

    1. was sharpening a knife
    2. was cleaning a gun
    3. was sleeping on a bed
    4. was reading in a corner
    5. was eating oatmeal

    Which was it and why?

  • It was the fourth resident, because a circular house would have no corners, and therefore they are lying.

A man was doing his job when his suit was torn. Why did he die three minutes later?

  • It was a spacesuit.

A man walks 1 mile south, then 1 mile west, then 1 mile north, and ends up where he started.

    How did he accomplish this?

  • I was having fun, so I'll answer.  A towel!

The person who makes it, sells it.  The person who buys it, never uses it, and the person who uses it doesn't know that they are using it.  What is it?

  • A coffin. A similar riddle...

He who has it doesn't tell it. He who takes it doesn't know it. He who knows it doesn't want it. What is it?

  • Um, I have no clue. A secret? I have one from a book, Finders Keepers.
PS: If you read the book, please don't spoil it.

    My first is in fur, but not in fun;
My second just means me alone.
My third is third as well in run,
My forth begins my saddest groan.
    What am I?
