  Yeah that "pixel-ly" effect is because the vector has a bitmap fill. It is part of the artistic style, although it can look terrible at high resolutions. The image below is the fill.

• Sorry, but I don't see how this is something special. You can get it right-clicking on your avatar's image in your profile page and choosing the option to see the image in a new tab. (The exact name of the option depends on the browser; in a Mac there is no right-clicking but some equivalent.)
