Possibly like the old Hell One vs. new Hell One situation, where some people (rarely) get stuck in the old version.

now for a case of extra weird...I just went into the hall, no line. There was another player there. I reloaded while still in the hall. The same other player was still there when i got back, but magically a line had appeared on the floor.
