me too! I'd probably take the little dried marshmallows out of the packet-cocoa, throw away the cocoa, make good, rich cocoa from ground chocolate and steamed milk, add just enough cinnamon that no one notices, add a smidge of heavy cream, whisk it till it is frothy, pour, add the dried marshmallows, cozy up to the fire in my blanket, reach for the illustrated book and the plate of almond cookies I just took out of the oven and then sip, nibble, read, tuck feet under blanket....
They make just tiny marshmallows now, so no cocoa loss! :D They're called Mallow Bits. They're awesome in lots of stuff. Plus, shall we ever meet, you are so totally making me hot cocoa. ;)
Ooooh, cocoa!! My favorite comfort "food". Swiss Miss Marshmallow Lover's cocoa with a third to half wedge of grated Ibarra Mexican Chocolate and a double pack of the little marshmallow bits. Made with milk, not water. I'm sure it's really bad for me, but I don't have it often. Dagoba makes an excellent drinking chocolate (shop.dagobachocolate.com/DA...) with chilies and cinnamon that can fry your tastebuds if you're not careful. I like adding a 1/2 tsp. to a "softer" drinking chocolate to get just a hint of the spice. (Yes, I'm a bit of a wuss.)

I'm wondering if you should, I mean "could", toast the marshmallows first? maybe roll the slices in finely ground coconut and a tiny pinch of almond meal, place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, pop them in near the top of the oven and peek at them through the glass door, taking them out just in time. toasty!! no, because by now they are too good to put on cocoa, what with that crusty and tasty coating...drool...
I'd gladly make you hot cocoa!! Hmmm, are they "dry" marshmallows, like the packaged kind? I don't like the squishy ones because they are, well, they are squishy in a spongy way. I like jabbing at them, just not eating them.
Yes, dry. Like the type of marshmallows in Lucky Charms, or the teensy bitty ones that come in Hot Cocoa :D I prefer them as well. That is why I've stocked up on Mallow Bits! I believe they're made by Kraft. :)
