Is it at all possible to get the home street backgrounds as full-res images - no houses or cultivating - just the bare street design?

Yep, they are being processed right now. I uploaded the ones with just signposts, but the user Macs made them even better with no signpost (via tutorial home streets before the sign post is added). Those will be uploaded soon.
