    Is it worth the $26.95 (or however much it is)?

    Hi.. Have you looked at Illyriad? It's free to play with an option to buy "prestige" as you go. I'm a dwarf there and Pippette is playing too. www.illyriad.co.uk/GameInfo... It's not Glitch but I'm digging the strategy and the community has been helpful and welcoming.

    After watching over Delta Stormsong's shoulder yesterday while he played around in the Ur Minecraft server on our family copy of Minecraft, I am farily certain our family is going to end buying three more Minecraft copies!

Depends on who you ask. In my opinion, it wouldn't be worthwhile if it were free. On the other hand, my brother and sister would probably each sell a kidney or other crucial bodily organ to get their hands on a copy.

    I'm with you: "meh" is what comes to mind when I think about Minecraft..

Like what Justin said, depends on who you ask. I thought about buying it, but after a bit more research about the game I concluded that I won't be happy with it.

It has a Creative Mode and a Survival Mode. Creative Mode is more of a Glitchy thing. ;)

I play Minecraft. Unless you have the friends to play with...it's no where near the community that Glitch has. But it is still fun to build on the environment around you and make creative contraptions. You can make whole towns block by block, or whatever you can think of. It you want a sand-box builder game, Minecraft should fit you.

Okay, cool, thanks you guys! I think I'll play on my friend's account for a bit more to see if I'll get it.

I played Terraria, which is like Minecraft, and had some fun with it for a while but then was introduced to Glitch... I like sandboxes but after a while they can get boring with no one to play with.

I bought it while it was in beta for considerably cheaper and I liked it a fair bit, but the lack of community from the server I was playing wasn't anything to write home about. When they reset the server and everything we had built on it, it totally put me off and I stopped playing it. Not gonna lie, Glitch still appeals to me more than Minecraft does - but the sandbox nature of it and the super pleasant community that's growing on the World of Ur forums really makes it a suitable replacement. Without the community, Minecraft loses its appeal in my opinion. Take from that what you will ^^;
