The world does need Glitch. Glitch players present and future needed Glitch, but also hopefully Glitch, if successful, could have given a spark of an idea to other game designers. And there would be lots of nonviolent, socially welcoming games. And I do believe that games can influence real life. I know that I've taken wonderful things from Glitch into the real world, and I agree that the opposite can happen with violent games. Violence seems like a normal, acceptable way of solving problems or finding release. We need Glitch... I really do wonder what Obama would say. If he'd had the time (which he doesn't), I bet he'd have loved to play it.

I honestly wonder what Glitch would have become and what the world would have been if Glitch had grown bigger. Would it be a widely known name, at least in the game/tech/social media circle of the world?

You can get kind of a glimpse of how people would have written about it in game community by reading the articles that have been written about its demise. Some of those articles were written by people who hadn't played, or played much. There is a bit of bias toward talking about what we're all now missing, of course, but the common thread is that Glitch was ahead of its time and trying to pave the way for a new kind of gaming experience. If Glitch had taken off, there would have been imitators.

The talented staff were definitely top of line. They managed to create a unique and very special game.

Those who never experienced such a game would say that it was just a game and that there were plenty like it. But they don't understand. There is nothing like this game out there at all...yet. Glitch was truly an innovator. I do hope that somebody has witnessed the wonder of this game and will one day bring us a new land of magic. It's bound to happen. It might not be in the immediate future, but it is in the future. If we don't get Raptured on Friday, that is XD

I suspect there still will be imitators. They will take portions/aspects of Glitch and incorporate them into their own vision. I'm okay with that, as long as it's not a cute version of WoW. And I'd even happily play a "Glitch Lite." But this has been a case of "the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts." And we may have to build it back up from the ground.
