We discussed forming the band all throughout May on Global as a joke before Lizzard and I started taking it seriously and writing lyrics for musicblocks in my tower and then making the forum post. One of the devs must have been listening.
If the Devs have been, um, 'eavesdropping' (something I would hope they do to judge player satisfaction) I think it's incredibly cool that they played along with the band name. Congrats, Cleops, you've obviously made an impression on them!
