I think that the game is by default on maximum zoom. Try using - for zooming out and then + for zooming in.

I can't zoom in either, but I remember in the days of /zoom you used to be able to zoom in twice as much and out enough to see nearly all of the large streets. (that command doesn't work now)

Yeah, the + and - doesn't work. I used to be able to when it was first introduced and you had to manually type in /zoom.
