More options for newsfeed?
It would be really nice if we could control whose updates show up in our feed, such as with a list where friends can be checked or unchecked. Sometimes it happens that one person dominates the feed to the point that other people's news becomes too difficult to see. While I wouldn't want to unfriend a person when that happens (since, you know, good for them for being so active!), it would be helpful to temporarily "mute" them if it gets to be too much.
On Twitter, sometimes people live-tweeting an event become most of what I see in my feed. Many clients allow you to mute a person for a day, a week, or longer, or to mute their hashtag. I don't think the system needs to be nearly that complex, but it's an example of what I'd like to see. It wouldn't stop you from going to that person's profile and seeing all their updates there.
