Late start to new day

I didn't get the new day screen or energy refill until 12:08am this morning, and because I was anticipating the energy refill, I ended up dying and went to hell (T_T).  I guess my glitch got its wish when it said that mornings would be good if they started later... Is this a bug, or was there just some lag on my computer?
