/leave takes me to... not where I was before

So I'm in one of the new basements, and I find a locked door.  I go home to get the right key, and when I type in /leave to go back to where I was, I find myself in Burnabee.  WTF?

I think I may have had a long-forgotten route from there set on my map.  Might that be it?

What ever it is, I don't like it!

  • It happens to everyone. I think it's intentional.

  • This happens for a number of places that are either part of instanced quests or "secret" locations; currently, this is the way it works.

  • Oh.  Huh.  Okay.

I don't really see how the basements fit either of those criteria, though.

  • Note the quotes around "secret". It doesn't mean a place you don't know about, but for instance when a player goes into one of these basements, we say they have gone to 12 Galaxies or one of a handful of not-really-where-they-went names. :)  Some of those we intentionally set so you can't teleport there, but you get sent to Groddle trying to get back (which is confusing). I hope that explains what happens in those situations a little better. I can't say for sure we'll disallow the 'back to world' teleport here though. But this is beta, so you never know! ;)
