Onion Sauce

What's the trigger for being able to make onion sauce? I've achieved all the cooking achievements that are achievable, but the encyclopedia says I still need to use the saucepan "a bit more." How many sauces does it take? (or is this a bug?)

• Ah, thanks Ayasta! I think I just needed to chew some licorice... now that I've earned my Spice Examiner badge, I can make onion sauce, which means I can shake-up the elusive Face Smelter.
