[known issue] The butterflies that won't fly
As per game mechanic, feeding caterpillars will turn them into butterflies. However, feeding them within the confines of my upper-level abode (I live in 1110 Tii Quarter) does turn them into butterflies but they are stuck to the floor and do not move. The only animation present is the fluttering of wings, but no free flying movement like normal butterflies. See screenshot below:

They free themselves once I interact (massage, milk, sing to), but i do find it odd that they cannot fly and are stuck to the floor. It looks cool though, and I plan to have a 'butterfly carpet' if such behavior is retained in the next test.
