How to pick-up can..and, first gaming experience

This is my first gaming experience. I played just for a few minutes and got hung up on picking up the watering can...how do u do it?
I like the music!

  You can either click on the watering can and choose "pick up" from the menu, or you can drag the can with your mouse into an open slot in your backpack (open slots look like white squares with dotted-line borders).
