Can't pick up any floating items!

All of a sudden, I just wasn't able to pick up any of the free floating stuff like the Currants, Energy, Mood, and XP. Is there a way to change this? I don't have to keep on getting meat or spending money to buy more food.

• There is a limit of 100 Quoins per game day. When a new game day starts the limit is reset.
