Are names not unique?

I am not the only Pixel in the game. That could get very confusing, especially since it is so easy to change appearance.

• Is that intentional long term? You might need to get creative with other game design elements if so, or this could be very confusing.

• I would deeply prefer that names be unique.
  
  (And I'm also wanting to change mine to MetaGrrrl so I stop having to go "Hi, it's actually me" to people whose name (I think) I recognize).

• I probably could have stuck with the original Pixel a. shun, but I wanted to be just Pixel. If you ask my husband, he would say "You can tell it's the original Pixel because she's complaining."

• You can tell the original by the # in the profile url. 23 vs 564.

• They could list our profile numbers beside our names, in brackets. Or at least if you add the person as a friend, it could list the number in brackets and you can find that number on a characters menu, when you open it.

• My name has a specific personal meaning to me, and I knew it'd be unique, so that's why I chose it.

• I wasn't aware of this. It certainly could get confusing if I had multiple friends with the same name.
