Three weeks...

This is the first time I post anything here, but I just had to post this… This song (David Bowie’s Five Years, in youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lou...) has been on my head ever since yesterday morning, when I read about Glitch closing. So, a little altered version of the lyrics (they don’t all go with the song perfectly, but well enough, I think):

Walking thru the Groddle Heights
So many Glitchens sighing
News had just come over,
We had three weeks left to cry in

Humbaba wept and told us
Ur was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet
Then I knew he was not lying

I heard radios, CrabPod Headphones, favourite melodies
I saw Pairs of Dice, toys, Emotional Bears and Cubimals
My brain hurt like a warehouse
It had no room to spare
I had to cram so many skills
To store everything in there
And all the purple-green Glitchens, and all the red-yellow Glitchens
And all the nobody Glitchens, and all the somebody Glitchens
I never thought I'd need so many Glitchens

A Glitchen my age went off her head
Squeezed some startled chickens
If there hadn’t been room in her bags, I think she would have dropped the grains

A Glitchen needing papers, went to talk to a bureaucrat
He drank some water at the Bureaucratic Hall
A bureaucrat played Farmville at the back
I think I saw you with a Snow Cone vendor
Eating Snow Cones cold and purple
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
Don't think you knew you were in this song

I had some metal rods, and went to look for a sloth
And I thought of Giants and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you walk
I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to jump

We've got three weeks, stuck on my eyes
We've got three weeks, what a surprise
We've got three weeks, my brain hurts a lot
We've got three weeks, that's all we've got
