BRB JUST SACRIFICING MY LIFE LOOKING FOR THE MAGICAL QUILL

Formerly the "If Pottermore ends up being an MMO I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with myself" thread.

I'm going to need a Time-Turner for both that and Glitch. The thought of it provokes my anxiety while producing lots of serotonin so I'm all confused, lol.

  • Cannot for the life of me locate the quill on that page.

  • How you mean? You do need to click on the you have found the magic quill box I think?
Posted 13 years ago by Aldeon Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I wouldn't be surprised if a browser's "ad-block" removes it.

    Edit:
There's an ad on the right, in a purple box. You make the quill in the ad levitate by moving your mouse left and right multiple times, then it gives you the link.

Oh yeah, I guess that link needs to be clicked. x-x
(I would recommend using another browser if it doesn't work for someone.)

  • Not using one..
Posted 13 years ago by Aldeon Subscriber! | Permalink
  • The quill is in the ad on the right of the page. For me, you had to "levitate" the quill. No clicking.

  • Gues flash is just not working on here then or something :(

Think I will need to be patient and wait till october to join you all

  • Btw, I recommend everyone activate their account right away, because I got the dreaded "Sorry, there was a problem with the registration process. Please try again. Please create a new Pottermore account. This should only take a minute or so." message the first time, and had to do it all over again.
It happens to some people. I had to get a new username too, even though I entered the same information. (Except the second time I left checked to allow messages from affiliates like Sony, just in case.)

  • aldeaon are you going to the quill.pottermore.com/2100
Posted 13 years ago by Teena Subscriber! | Permalink
  • This is funny... I am reading the book and I can't tell where they got the number 2100... Gryffindor was fifty points ahead, and 50 x 35 = 1750.

  • Hmm, I managed to sign up as FeatherOwl120... waiting for the email now. Hope it will be alright. :/

  • glum, I think at the bottom of that page in the book it says "Gryffindor leads by eighty points to twenty!"
Posted 13 years ago by cheater Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Final score just before harry caught the snitch was 20 to 80, I think, for a 60 point difference.
Posted 13 years ago by DiddilyPuff Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yes they say it's 60. Got signed up - waiting for email, fingers crossed!

@Aldeon if you want to tell me your real first & last name and email (or email it to me at morticia@glitchaddict.com) I can try to apply for you?

  • " Due to the number of people seeking to register, you may have to wait several weeks before receiving this email."
Posted 13 years ago by Morticia Addams Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Well this is interesting.  Here's what my copy says:

"Gryffindor leads by eighty points to zero, and look at that Firebolt go!  Potter's really putting it through its paces now, see it turn -- Chang's Comet is just no match for it -- the Firebolt's precision-balance is really noticeable in these long --"
"JORDAN!  ARE YOU BEING PAID TO ADVERTISE FIREBOLTS?  GET ON WITH THE COMMENTARY!"
Ravenclaw was pulling back; they had now scored three goals, which put Gryffindor only fifty points ahead -- if Cho got the Snitch before him, Ravenclaw would win.

There's no further mention of score; Harry releases the patronus, grabs the Snitch, and the game ends.  My edition of the book is a paperback, and all of this happens on pages 260 to 262.  It must be different in other versions of the book!

  • Thanks for the help and offer to sign up for me :)

Sadly I cant use another browser as im at work and can't install another 1.

I will just be patient and go and do other things in my free time then this. Will check it out when it opens for everyone in october then :p

  • Aww Aldeon.  :(  It's an ad in the top right of the page, and it looks as if it's flash or something.  You have to wiggle your mouse back and forth to make a feather float in the air, and then it takes you to the registration page.

    www3.guardian.co.uk/childre...
    and then eventually:
    www.pottermore.com/en/regis...

You can try that second one to see if it lets you bypass the first, though I suspect you'll need the right cookies to do so.

  • Yep, I heard it was 6 am EST this morning KittenKat. I know yesterday was 5 am cause that's when I woke up.  So, I guess they're mixing it up.

Did anyone who managed to sign up NOT get their email yet?  I have a friend who got signed up this morning but still no email...

  • I signed up for two accounts -- one for me and one for someone else -- and the first email came quickly, but the second took about an hour to arrive.

  • Same for me - no quill found but was able to register.

    From http://insider.pottermore.com/ :

Issue with Day 4 of The Magical Quill challenge

We have had a few difficulties with today’s Magical Quill challenge.

If you solve the clue, you may not see The Magical Quill but instead will be sent directly to the Pottermore early access registration page, where you will be able to register as normal.
