I can't remember exactly what I was doing beforehand, but I think this appeared after I clicked back onto the game tab on Chrome (switching from one tab to another). It's the first time this type of disconnect error has appeared (or the disconnect dialogue might have got a facelift). Oh, and yes, the client 'automagically' reloaded after a few secs.
