They stated that even with the limited number of players, their game is based on a technology that is heading out the window, and wouldn’t have been viable anyway.

• Indeed.  Adobe is doing everything they can to kill Flash short of actually announcing that they're shutting it down.

• The current idea is to move to HTML5 as the coding platform.  It's browser independent and, more importantly, works on Apple products like the iPad.  Using Flash on Mobile devices is tricky at best, due to the touch only interface.  Add in that Adobe has essentially said they are going to stop updating it and the technology is in trouble.
