Buttering up chickens

I just discovered this... Since when does this exist, and... why? I do like to show any animal my appreciation, mind you. I was just wondering. And are there any other new animal interactions that I might also have missed?

• Since yesterday and it gives you 10 iMG. The other new animal thing is that nibbling piggies occasionally gives you bacon if you have AK V or higher.
