Permanent Cursor in the chat box

It would greatly help slow typers, newbies with tons of questions, and generally remove a lot of unnecessary aggravation when one tries to even so much as say "Hi" as another comes into range. By the time you've clicked on the chat box and then tried to type in what you want to say, they're already past you, on the subway and 3 stations down the track!!! With a permanent chat cursor, you can leave any comment you want to say in the box, and when you see someone you want to address, all you have to do is hit a send box next to the chat box. Yeah, I know, too many programming headaches.

• The basic problem with that is the keyboard commands used in the game window. Then there's global vs local vs group vs party vs IM chat - it would be hard to figure out for the system which chat you wanted to say hi in, if that makes sense.
  I'm not saying it's impossible, but that's the first thing I thought of.

• You don't need to click, use the tab key to switch to the chat box. (So you can already do what you ask.)
