Have chicken, will travel.
You can drag other people all over hell and back (hey, can you? is it possible to follow someone in hell? I've never thought about that) but you can not take your chickens with you.
Wouldn't it be nice to take a furry, feathered or flitty friend with you on your travels through Ur? A virtual sidekick that doesn't talk back, always agrees and is always available for a nibble or squeeze... you could drop them on streets that might need a little extra life, or develop that weirdly overly familiar familiar-style relationship with your favorite beastie.
Oh alright - let's be real, there's no real reason other than it would be fun. But isn't that reason enough?
