Feature to keep people from stealing your animals on your street?

My girlfriend and I logged into the game today after being gone for about a week to find that most of her pigs and all of mine had been taken from our home streets. I don't know if this bothers anyone else but it really upset us. We love our piggies. :'c

So what if people couldn't pick up the animals that you place in your home street or you have to give some kind of permission item for them to do it, the way you can give out house keys?

If you've been gone for a week, it's more likely the piggies starved to death than were taken, sorry. :( Though I do agree it'd be nice if piggies weren't stealable from home streets.
