I miss Lx..... :(

I posted something yesterday in reaction to Lx's explanation of his wrongdoings, arguing that the "no one was hurt" defense doesn't really work for all of us. While only one player responded publicly, MANY players responded privately that they shared my view but were afraid to say so. Why is everyone so uncomfortable speaking up? Lazy Cubimal's photo here is the only other public thing I've seen declaring anything other than admiration for a player who continued to violate the ToS despite warnings from staff, conferring upon himself and his friends an unfair advantage in game. I won't say "good riddance" but I will say that I hope something is learned from all of this. Thanks for being honest, LC.

When I heard that Lx had been deleted due to ToS violations I read through the ToS. Truthfully, to be in violation of any of the ToS you are obviously doing something that is inappropriate and that TS specifically told you not to do (and reading his public response on the seriousroutes site, he knew he was in the wrong). I don't know Lx and had no interaction with him beyond visiting his street or seeing him around Ur. I would never say anything like "good riddance" but honestly, he deserved what he got.

I'm with both you and Sloppy, Papa Legba. The issue I have is mostly to do with the attitude regarding what he was doing. I have to say I was surprised at the amount of support he had/has, regardless of the fact he was knowingly violating the ToS and (from what I understand) de-valuing certain items within the game. That said, I'd never even heard of the fella before all the QQ about his deletion. I don't bear him any ill-will but I'm pleased that TS have taken a stand.

His justification for writing the key grabbing bot (which was the straw that broke the camels back) - "I gave the keys to glitches that needed them" - was mealy mouthed BS.

I feel very sad about the whole Lx situation, and a little bit peeved AT HIM for continuing to break the rules so egregiously that TS was forced to ban him. I think he was a fun player to be around and contributed a lot to the community. Sometimes the really creative people are also the rulebreakers, and it's hard to find the balance between upholding the rule of law and also allowing for the contributions of the rebels

I feel the same way chilirlw feels. I'm peeved at him for that too. The fact is that some people in this game think that the devs are too lenient and that they can get away with anything, well, here's your wake up call.He was a great person, or at least seemed like it to me, but nonetheless, he broke some rules and consequences have to be paid. I wouldn't say good riddence though, but I do hope that this opens people's eyes to make them realize that no one, no matter how loved in the community they are, how much they've done for the community, that if they break the rules which they signed an agreement to, this can happen. You can't expect nothing to happen, because something will, sooner or later. that said, yes, I'm saddened that he's gone, but he should've seen this coming.

Hell, I like him. But if he blames Tiny Speck or is claiming it "isn't fair," then I'm not sure I really can anymore. It's not the first time I've seen someone repeatedly break rules until receiving permanent consequences, but the last time I saw that AND the person blamed the consequences, I was teaching middle school.

I am sorry Lx did not take heed after negative public response to the GNG exploit, rather than going on to create the key exploit. Surely somebody so intelligent could understand that a key-grabbing macro would deprive everyone else of a chance to get keys using normal game tactics. Although I support the decision by TS, however, Lx seemed like a good-hearted person as well as a fine coder. Maybe this is like one of those marriages between two great people that for reasons unknown to the public just did not work out.
