My Botler - Mr. Stuffins - Is coming home to meee!! (Courtesy of an awesome Bupy!!) UPDATED WITH PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started looking for custom plush makers as soon as I found out that Glitch was closing. I can't believe how quickly she finished Mr. Stuffins! She found similar fabrics and I couldn't be more pleased! (AND she knew what Glitch was!) He's in the mail and headed straight for me :) :)

A picture of Mr. Stuffins on my street!
A picture of Mr. Stuffins before shipping!

This was her message to me:
Here's a pic of Mr. Stuffins getting ready to go home. He seems to have a little trouble keeping his right arm on for some reason, must be a fault in my imagination... ;-)

WILL HIS ARM BE DETACHABLE??? OH MY GIANTS I HOPE SO!!!

I'm so excited! I'll be sure to update when he arrives!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Her store is Bonkina's Stuff   :D

  • that is so incredibly cool!  what was the name of your etsy seller?

  • VERY cute! Your seamstress did a great job.  I may have to make myself a Wombat.

  • I edited the post and put a link to her store in there :)

  • But... I was hoping Brandi and Kukubee might craft and sell the butler doll, as seen here.

  • Custom orders are $16. I think that's good.
Posted 11 years ago by Mal'akh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yup. I paid $16 :)

  • I wonder if she can make a copy of my Wadsworth...

  • I sent her a picture 6 days ago and he's finished and in the mail! I'm sure she would be happy to help you, Mal'akh! :)

  • I wonder if she can make my Glitch!

  • That is a very good price.  I know how much time it takes to make one of these plushies.
Posted 11 years ago by Kookaburra Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Wow. That is ADORABLE! And that is a really really good price. I have a feeling she's about to be inundated with orders.

  • Um, I'm sorry to say something discouraging, but Kukubee/TS owns the rights, not this Etsy seller and we shouldn't encourage anyone taking money away from Kukubee.
Posted 11 years ago by FlatEarther Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I suspect that people are tired of waiting for official merch, since they've been asking for more than a year.  I don't see how a few custom dolls is taking anything away from anyone.  I doubt that Kukubee is wanting to give up game design for a sewing kit.  Relax.
Posted 11 years ago by Goddess Freya Subscriber! | Permalink
  • In fact, Brandi is Kukubee's seamstress.
Posted 11 years ago by Myrrah Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Wonderful, then maybe Brandi can jump in and make some custom dolls, or Kukubee (or anybody from TS) could comment on the legitimacy of this seller, rather than having all of us speculate.

  • Didn't mean to start a shitstorm! Sorry..

The nice lady made one custom plush for me. No one is mass producing Glitch products, and if I had the sewing skills, I would have just made it myself. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

BUT, sometimes I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so I'm sorry if I violated some TOS rule or have "taken money from Kukubee". If it's a problem, please delete this post and I will not mention Mr. Stuffins again.. If there is some way to make it right, let me know. I'm sorry..
Posted 11 years ago by Jezebel Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I'd love to have one made of mine.
Posted 11 years ago by Eye Wonder Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I really really doubt TS or Kukubee could manufacture EVERY SINGLE butler variant unless they did it on an individual commission basis. Which would be very cool! But unlikely.

I love that you have rescued your Mr. Stuffins and will have him with you even after The End.

  • That's so adorable! <3 And I've seen a couple other Glitchen offering their services making Glitch crafts that were okayed by Stoot, but you still might want to check anyway (or other Glitchen who want their butlers sewn). I might go fabric shopping and sew my own, too :)

  • Oh my gosh O.O. I wonder if you could make a piggy or chicken for me? O.O

  • *wavies* I am the Etsy seller who made Mr. Stuffins for Jezebel. Each butler doll is sold as a one-of-a-kind custom. And yeah, the arm is detachable. :-) They are very fun to make, and I encourage those with the skills to design and sew your own real world edition. I plan to create mine as well. :-D

  • Hello there Bupy! :D
Posted 11 years ago by Mal'akh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I crocheted my butler a while back, and showed Brandi, and she showed Kukubee, and everyone was okay with it.  (It's here, if you want to see it.)  I just made it for fun, though, not for profit; as with any other copyrighted design, you might want to ask permission before selling anything based on it.

  • Just wrote to TS, awaiting my doom or other :-)
Posted 11 years ago by Bupy Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Sorry if I got you in trouble, Bupy... :(
Posted 11 years ago by Jezebel Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I hope they allow it. :(
Posted 11 years ago by Mal'akh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I hope so, too. I would love a RL version of my little Alastair to keep with me.
Posted 11 years ago by Liathea Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Beautiful work, Bupy! I hope you get the all-clear to continue, because I would dearly love a RL version of my Patience. I would make it myself, but I can't sew worth a darn. :-)

I think TS is pretty groovy about these kinds of handmade crafts, because they know that a butler here or there is not going to decrease the sales of their own merchandise, when they have it ready to sell.

  • Got an all-clear from Stoot hisself! \o/ He's cool with the idea so long as I don't market it as an official product (which I'm not).

*goes back to madly sewing things together, with occasional chicken-squeezing breaks*

  • I would adore a little Fimbrethil but I'm not sure the woody nature can be duplicated with fabric. =( Maybe? I'll have to check into it, because this would be a wonderful memento of my Glitch life.
Posted 11 years ago by TransplantedEntwife Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Sanwei also has written permission from Stoot to make your butlers - please see her thread here http://www.glitch.com/forum/announcements/29834/ :) Yay for plushies and Bupy!! :D

Wombat is going to be coming my way as soon as Bupy finds some more stuffing!  I can hardly wait for him to show up and give me some much-needed advice!

  • @TransplantedEntwife - my butler is all-wood, and I will be making him at some point (gotta remember to save a screenie of him too..) It's a challenge, but doable :-)
