On the true meaning of "until the end of the year" (i.e., we're not closing the site just yet)

It appears that there's some anxiety around this portion of our closing announcement:

"The website and forums will remain available until the end of the year..."

Totally understandable, by the way, as it is actually "the end of the year" today! However, let us not ignore this portion of the very same announcement: 

"We will notify all account holders by email of the site's closure in advance of that date."

Good news! We have not notified you by email of the site's closure because we're still not ready to close the site. Also, we're totally not working today. Save up your goodbyes for a later date, and we'll give you ample warning before you need to use them for real.

  I saw the updates on your profile, and was happy to know I had a few more days, but it's even better to know that I'll never come back hoping to talk to my friends only to find this site gone. Thanks! Now I know I can relax for a little while. I still miss Glitch, but now I'm smiling again because I know the staff is still listening and loves every single Glitch player. Thanks for EVERYTHING!
