"Glitchens" is NOT A WORD

"Glitchen" is plural already.

ONE Glitch

TWO Glitchen

or, TWO Glitches

but "GLITCHENS" IS NOT A WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's like "oxen" or "children" - you wouldn't write "greetings fellow oxens" or "greetings childrens"! Not unless you were TRYING to give us amateur grammarians conniption fits!

Deep sigh... I just had to get that out of my system...

I have totally definitely left the game now. I am not just saying I will leave, I actually left the game.

In fact, I can stop playing this game anytime I want.

    And I just did!

  • Most people(s) that I know don't actually use the word "peoples" in their everyday speech.  In any case, issues of people/peoples aside, there is legitimate confusion on the issue, as I've seen "Glitchen" used as a singular.

I know GNG lyrics originated with a player but presumably they can be taken as official, so we can take our cue from there.  "All the Glitchen" means all the players, not all of the singular player (unless all of someone, like their spleen, and eyeballs, and toes, and everything else, is making sparks, which sounds rather uncomfortable at best and dangerous at worst).

If you use the word "peoples" in your conversation normally, and intend to give that same sort of verbal impression when you say "Glitchens" then that is fine (although I may think you are a bit silly), but otherwise you are clearly insane.

  • Why does it matter? I find it cute that someone had a temper tantrum over grammar rules for words that were made up for the game in the first place. If the game doesn't enforce a standard to the words it invents, why should we assume that standard be English?
