Your High-Level Recipe Ideas!

We’re working on a revamp of the cooking branches of the crafting tree! The goals are to (a) streamline the number of distinct ingredients required for most recipes, (b) introduce a middle tier of intermediate ingredients (such as sauces, veggie mixes & spice mixes, batter and “prepared beans”) which can be used in different combinations in different recipes and (c) create some new high level recipes.

We want your help! If you have input on the changes and ideas to higher level recipes, we’d love to hear them.

The new intermediate recipes (mixes, etc.) are useful for several reasons: they reduce the number of ingredients needed to make high-level foods, encourage specialization in particular areas of the cooking tree, and promote trading between players at different levels — lower level players can “do the prep work” for the more experienced chefs. We’ve listed all of these below.

If you’d like to propose a new high level recipe, please follow these guidelines:
1. Must be made with Famous Pugilist Grill or Awesome Pot (or less desirably, with Frying Pan)
2. No more than 4 ingredients (don’t worry about the quantity of each ingredient)
3. At least two of the ingredients must be from the intermediate products listed below

To get you started, here are some of the ones we’re planning to add:

Examples of High-Level Recipes:
Hungry Nachos (pugilist grill) - Tortilla, Sliced Beans, Hippie Veggie Mix, Cheezy Sauce
Maburger (pugilist grill) - Bun, Prepared Beans, Very Stinky Cheese, Hippie Veggie Mix
Ritzy Salmon Congee (awesome pot) - Proper Rice, Salmon, Green Mix, Secret Sauce
Swank Zucchini Loaf (awesome pot) - Zucchini, Batter, Dessert Spice Mix, Cooking Oil
Precious Potato Salad (awesome pot) - Cooked Potatoes, Veggie Medley, Expensive Spice Mix, Mild Sauce

And here are the new intermediate products we’re adding:

Spice mixes:
Firebog Spice Mix (cumin, saffron, turmeric, curry)
Naraka Hot Mix (ginger, hot pepper, mustard, garlic)
Dessert Spice Mix (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, licorice)
Expensive Spice Mix (camphor, old(er) spice, turmeric, cardamom, nutmeg, saffron)
Bland Spice Mix (salt, pepper)

Veggie mixes:
Glitchepoix (onion, carrot, cabbage, zucchini)
Hippie Veggie Mix (tomato, spinach, onion, zucchini)
Green Mix (broccoli, cucumber, spinach, cabbage)
Veggie Medley (corn, parsnip, carrot, broccoli)

Sauces:
Roux (buttefly butter, flour) - this base sauce is an ingredient for Mild Sauce, Cheezy Sauce, Secret Sauce and Hot ‘N’ Fizzy Sauce
Red Sauce (butterfly milk, tomato, onion) - ingredient for Creamy Catsup, Wicked Bolognese Sauce, and Sweet ‘N’ Sour Sauce
Stock Sauce (butterfly milk, meat, flour) - ingredient for Wavy Gravy, and for the revised recipe of Meat Gumbo

Other new intermediate ingredients:
Batter (flour, egg, butter) - used in numerous recipes to replace the combination of flour, eggs, milk and butter, such as Gammas Pancakes, Divine Crapes, Waffles, Pineapple Upside-Down Pizza, etc
Sliced Beans (31 beans) - mainly an ingredient for Prepared Beans (aka tofu), but also used in recipes that require many beans such as Chilly-Busting Chili and Awesome Stew
Prepared Beans (sliced beans, old(er) spice) - used in recipes that would contain “tofu” as an ingredients, e.g. Maburger and the revised Super Veggie Kebab
Cooked Potatoes (potatoes, salt) - 6 potatoes, boiled to perfection

Your are also welcome to swap in one of the existing sauces, such as Mild Sauce, Sweet ‘n’ Sour Sauce, Creamy Catsup, Cheezy Sauce, Wicked Bolognese Sauce, Tangy Sauce, Secret Sauce, Cloudberry Jam, Whorteberry Jelly, or Hot ‘N’ Fizzy Sauce.

p.s. If you're curious about what it looks like when we try to show all the connections between all the cooking products and ingredients and balance the prices and costs, it looks like this: i.imgur.com/Q5ffG.png

  • I know this is not a recipe but have you given thought about up grading the grill. So many uses of the grill and you can up grade to an outside grill, say like an of fashion brick grill with chimney, ( could be required to build it) or kettle grill like Weber or a gas grill. Then you could be able to roast items like roast chicken or a pork roast, or maybe a roast salmen. Just a thought.

  • So many delicious recipes!

How about Gimchi? Glitchepoix, salmen, Naraka hot spice mix and salt in the awesome pot. Could be fermented over a few hours, which would require the cook to have a second awesome pot available. Or, after a short cooking period, could be bottled (like a sauce) but require shelf time before being ready for consumption.

Could be used in Gimchi pancakes: Gimchi, batter, sesame oil and cooking oil in the frying pan.
Gimchi stew: Gimchi, sesame oil, prepared beans and hot pepper in the awesome pot.

  • Chocolate Chip Cookies (Knife & Board)

    *2 Flour
    *
    1 Butterfly Butter
    *1 Butterfly Milk
*1 Sugar (made by grinding 2 allspices with Spice Mill)
    *1 Chocolate Sauce

    Chocolate Sauce
    (Saucepan)

    *
    1 Sugar
    *
    1 Butterfly Milk
    *1 Butterfly Butter
*1 Cocoa Powder (made by grinding 3 Allspices with Spice Mill)

    Chocolate Milk (Blender)

    *2 Butterfly Milk
    *1 Cocoa Powder

Suggestion: Chocolate Milk could give about 15 mood and "Chocolate Boost" effect, wich would make your Mood increase little by little for 20 seconds (since chocolate always makes us happy) (:

Hope you like the ideas! Also, I really think we need some more CHOCOLATE in the game!
The Cocoa Powder and the Chocolate Sauce could be used on a lot of different new recepies  such as Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Doughnuts, Chocolate Eggs (at Easter) and even Hot Cocoa (that could give the "A Hearty Feeling" boost)!

  • Can we get a stove/oven accessible for use to high-skilled Cooks? It could work similarly to a machine and with the conjunction of the required tool it could make all recipes, including all brand-new BAKED GOODS (with the new BAKING skill):

Croissants (which could be used to make say, breakfast sandwiches using the pugilist grill)
Cookies (sugar, chocolate chip, macadamia, R-A-I-N-B-O-W)
Biscuits (more breakfast stuff, also Strawberry Shortcake)
Cakes (birthday cakes, chocolate cake, red velvet, misc. commemorative cake. The cake comes in GROUP SERVING sizes and can put dropped in-world so other Glitchens can take them piece by piece)

Other things you can make in the oven:

    Thanksgiving turkey
Holiday food that's only available during its specific holiday (we already got pumpkin pie, what about pecan pie, green bean casserole, -->> HONEY HAM <<---)
    Lasagna
The pumpkins could now give simply PEPITAS and then we can roast them to make roasted pepitas.

Seriously, TS give me an oven. ily <3.

  • Mega edit: This is what I get for not reading carefully.  Forget the whole salmon sushi thing I proposed; salmon sushi (the high-level, end result) would require using a knife and board, where as the sushi rice (the middle-man ingredient, made with rice vinegar and everything!) would require an awesome pot, and that's ass backwards as far as the requirements for these recipes go.

So, idea totally scrapped!  Pretend this entry was never here.

  • I'm not entirely sure what it's made of, but I'd quite like some Salmon Rushed Tea where a very confused Glitch decides it would be a good idea to make some sort of fish-based beverage/stew.

She might only be able to make this while smashed.

Drinking it will sharpen the brain (omega 6) but dampen the mood, as who would want to drink fish tea?

In honour of Mr Rushdie, we should get maximum benefit from supping the tea at midnight.

  • i have no suggestions for recipe combos at the moment, will have to think about it for a while.
I have a collection of (RL) recipe notepoles on my street at the moment and also leave notes with them on the community noticeboards when i come across them.

At first I tried to only use recipes where all the ingreds appear in Ur but was stumped by the lack of sugar.

The only request i have tho is that there be some form of new recipe that uses the Jars of Whortleberry jelly. we can make the jelly already, but it does not appear in any of the existing recipe combos...

  • a Boot with Cheese!  (either awesome pot or grill, doesn't matter, pick one, maybe the stone oven, even)

Ingredients: a boot, cheesy sauce, very stinky cheese, hot 'n fizzy sauce

Despite the horrific name, this Ixian delicacy is actually amazingly tasty.  It is traditionally served by having it stuffed down your throat, but most Glitchen prefer to scarf it down themselves like any other food they manage to acquire, licking the cheese off their fingers noisily.

  • I think we need to think international here, as we are all scattered across the globe.  So my suggestions:

Some things or the new spice mix using curry, please, which I don't think I have ever used.  Everyone loves Indian food!  Perhaps Biryani (rice, meat, firebog mix, veggie mix); Samosas (Flour, batter, cooked potatoes, firebog mix); Naan bread (olive oil, roux, firebog mix).

Also, as I am Irish, how about Guinness stew (beer, meat, cooked potatoes, red sauce).

And for the TS Canucks we obviously and urgently need Poutine (cooked potatoes, stinky cheese, stock sauce, bland mix).
